We designed the Serious Relationship Framework to help you engage in meaningful dialogue about the elements that lead to quality business and workplace relationships. Using design thinking practices we work together to align expectations and build equitable, quality relationships.
Customer Stories
- An Irvine, California-based technology company used the framework to meet with a group of value-added resellers (VARs) to better understand their expectations. Together we explored how the misalignment of expectations of value, distribution of responsibilities, and the lack of acknowledgment of VAR feedback was causing VARs to switch to a competitor company.
- We met with an Atlanta-based professional services company and the senior leadership of one of their largest clients. The client was about to terminate their multi-million dollar contract but agreed to use the framework to express their concerns. Together the company and client were able to for the first time engage in clear dialogue about their expectations for transparency and accountability from service organizations resulting in contract renewal.
- A Richmond, Virginia-based member services organization used the framework to listen to the employee expectations for moving to a virtual office as a result of COVID-19. We met in small groups representing various internal organizations to define the change in the work environment and the changes in expectations, capacity and capabilities, responsibilities, and level of accountability expected. The workshop was very effective in helping HR and the IT organization mitigate risks to the work-from-home transition.
